My partner and I live in a cosy, art-filled, 2-bedroom apartment in Summer Hill - tree-filled streets and plenty of walking routes and cafes nearby. One of the rooms is a study set up for working from home, the other a bedroom. We enjoy cooking and reading, so have a well-stocked kitchen, and an indecently large collection of cooks.

We are both PhD students who are very much looking forward to an interstate holiday. We'll be going to Darwin in June and would love to find a housesitter who will enjoy a stay here, and be happy to look after our gorgeous dog.

Our dog Yves (pronounced Eve) is a 2-year-old Borzoi (think: long-haired greyhound). He is a sweet, playful boy who spends a huge portion of his day sleeping! He is a bit of a celebrity in the local neighbourhood, so be prepared for people to stop you so that they can give Yves treats.

Yves was rehomed at 10 months and has had some issues with separation. He is now on medication to help – he can now do about 4 hours alone if required, but an arrangement where someone is home all, if not most of the time would be ideal.

He gets a walk in the morning and afternoon, and a quick wee on the grass outside before bed. After a walk, Yves enjoys a bit of enrichment (usually something to chew or a food puzzle). He then spends most of his time asleep on the couch or kitchen tiles. He is good on a lead, but has a tendency to lunge at birds and is a strong boy (he is just over 35kg).

We love Yves - he is a gentle, playful, and goofy soul that also loves to sleep from 9am-5pm. Perfect for someone who can work from home or two people who would like to take turns being with him.

Unfortunately because of our Strata rules we can't accommodate another pet while you stay at our place. So this would be suited to someone who loves sighthounds, rather than someone who has their own and would need to bring them.

If you are interested in looking after Yves in our place while we're away, we would love to hear from you!

Pets & farm animals

Yves has his medication twice daily and takes them very happily rolled up in a slice of chicken or in a spoon of cream cheese. He is friendly and playful with other dogs, and a bit shy with humans at first (but will warm up to you with some food bribery and time to feel safe). He gets a walk in the morning and afternoon, and a quick wee on the grass outside before bed. After a walk, Yves enjoys a bit of enrichment (usually something to chew or a food puzzle). House Tasks

Enjoy yourself while you look after Yves, and take the bins out once a week! We will do whatever we can to make sure you have a comfortable stay with us.
