We are looking for housesitters for 22 days from the 5th January through to 28th January. Take care of 2 cats, 1 bird, 4 chickens, 1 rooster, possibly 2 horses.
Includes the use of a motor vehicle if required.
We live in a lovely spacious home on 5 acres in the township of Uki with a great view of Mt Warning in the Northern Rivers of New South Wales, Australia. Relax on the deck and take in the views and atmosphere. 6 minute walk or 1 minute drive into the town to enjoy the ambience, shop at the local store, a cuppa at our unique post office/coffee shop or one of the 2 great cafes.
All comforts: Airconditioning, Internet, Large TV with Netflicks and other subscribed internet movie veiwing, washing machine, dryer, town water, bathroom and ensuite, well appointed kitchen with probably anything that you could possibly need.
Close to popular rock pools, park and drive to national parks and bush walking.
Just a short walk or 1 minute drive to the local Cafe, post office and shops which include the famous Uki pie shop, one of the best crystal shops in the region, an enourmous brik a brak shop, general store and pub with great atmosphere and meals.
FULLY AIRCONDITIONED (we leave Airconditioning on at all times for the animals).
Lots of outdoor relaxation areas with BBQ. Open air Gymnasium.
LOCAL ATTRACTIONS: Immediately you have Uki, a quaint little town with it's history and friendly people. approximately 10 mins away is Mt Warning which has 2 walking trails that you can do, the walk to the top and back which takes about 4-5 hrs or the shorter 1/2 hour rainforrest trac, Murwillumba, the closest major centre is also 10 mins away and has everything that any decent town has...
in 15mins you can be at the Hari Krishna temple where you are invited to a free meal on Sunday evenings. Tropical fruit world in 20 mins where you get taken on a tour of the farm, can sample exotic fruits and dishes, crack and eat macadamias, shop at their fresh fruit and vege stall. 25mins away there is Nimbin which is a very unique villiage . In approximately 45 mins you can be in; byron bay, cabarita beach, minyon falls, crystal castle, currumbin beach which is great for surfing,
45 minutes will get you to: Currumbin Wildlife Sanctuary or Fleays Wildlife Park where you can get up close and personal with kangaroos and lorikeets and for a price with other creatures such as koalas, crocodiles, pythons, birds of prey!. Its about 1hr 15 mins drive to all the popular theme parks: movieworld, wet and wild, seaworld, dreamworld which is famous for its tiger breeding program, whitewater world and surfers paradise which is very tourist oriented.
Just 40 minutes to Cabarita Beach, Byron Bay, Currumbin Beach on the Gold Coast, Tweed heads. Approximately 1hr 15mins to Surfers Paradise and popular theme parks.
For the adventurous, national parks and walking tracks abound and there is good fossicking for minerals and crystals around the region. Speck gold can be found in the dirt around Mt Warning
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
2 x inside cats who just need food morning and night, water, cuddles and litter tray cleaned daily,
1 x inside caged bird who need fresh water daily, seeds changed every 4-5 days, cage cleaned out every week or so. He is are not handled but love it if you speak and whistle to him... also likes to share your toast in the morning!
Feed chickens each morning
Fill water for horses each morning. They will have hay delivered regularly so you won't be required to do anything else.
You will need to be at the property each morning and night for the duration of the housesit. Animal loving, respectful teens ok but otherwise not suitable for children. Reason being, the ticks in this region kill cats and our doors must me always kept closed so that the cats do not venture outside at any stage.

DATES We leave early on Saturday the 5th of January 2017 and return on sunday the 27th January.
It would be great if you could arrive a day or so early so we can show you the ropes. We have a lot of accomodation room at the house so you can arrive and leave on dates to suit your schedule.
