Forster-Tuncurry are twin towns which are part of the Great Lakes Area of NSW and is also classified as part of the Mid North Coast of NSW. A long bridge connects Tuncurry in the North to Forster in the South. There used to be a punt before the bridge many years ago. It is mainly a holiday destination with a beautiful lake (Wallis) and fantastic beaches. It is also a retirement place for older persons, like myself. The climate I would describe as nearly sub-tropical but is supposed to be a warm temperate climate like Newcastle. As it does get fairly hot & humid during Dec, Jan, Feb & March I have overhead ceiling fans in both bedrooms, kitchen, lounge room and a split system air-conditioner in the lounge room. My bedroom has a portable air-conditioner which slots into the window for hot nights and it works really well - This portable air-con gets very cold! I have also recently installed insulation material in the roof, which has helped a lot for both this Winter so far and also last Summer. I live in a largeish two bedroom villa unit which is part of a complex of only two villas. I have an internal laundry, paved low maintenance back yard, mango and citrus trees and herbs to pick out the back, 2 clotheslines, two toilets, bathroom and original kitchen with a new 2 person dishwasher. I have also installed plantation shutters which helps a lot in the Summer. My nearly 10 year old desexed female Ragdoll cat, Princess lives with me. Stocklands Shopping Centre (Woolies, Coles, Best & Less, Priceline Pharmacy, Bunnings etc as well as my favourite shop Bed Bath N Table!) with the Local Library are just a short walk away through a pretty bush park. I believe you will probably need a car here but there are very good bus services running from Stocklands S.C. to Tuncurry, Taree, Wingham & Old Bar. I have one remote controlled lock-up garage which is big enough for my Toyota RAV4 Wagon and also an undercover car space. My cat Princess is the main reason I need a housesitter and she probably would not get along with another cat or small dog. She is very territorial and is known to chase small dogs away from here.
