Our home is in a quiet, secluded, rural area of upstate SC.
We will leave for vacation Sunday, September 16, 2018, and will return home on Monday, October 1 (very late), 2018. We would like someone to stay in the house, to make a visible presence while we're away. This would be a great opportunity for a mature couple who like to relax, and maybe unwind, in a quiet, secluded, rural location the last half of September.
Weather this time of year in upstate SC will most likely be very pleasant. It will hot during the day, most likely, but not quite as humid as it would be down on the coast, since we're in the foothills of the Appalachians. Evenings would most likely be pleasant. Daytime temperatures in the 80-90s would be typical; night times it usually drops to the 60s. It should be fairly dry.
The lawn and garden would need some attention this time of year. The property is professionally landscaped and irrigated. We have numerous shrubs, flowers, and vegetable and fruit plants that would need typical attention while we are away.
There are indoor house plants that would need watering.
We have no pets so this is not an assignment someone who really wants to take care of pets would find interesting. And the house is not "childproof", so someone without children or pets would be appropriate.
The home was built in 2006 and is in fine condition. It is one story except the bonus room above the garage. There are 3 bedrooms but one is a home office. The home has a living room, formal dining room, breakfast nook attached to the kitchen, 2 full bathrooms, and a bonus room above the 2 car attached garage. There is a lovely secluded flagstone patio in back that you will enjoy relaxing on!
There is a 42" flat screen TV with satellite DirecTV service. There is a DVD player and a traditional stereo system, and you would be free to enjoy our extensive collection of classical and opera CDs and our very limited collection of movies also. We have a Sirius XM satellite radio receiver connected to the home stereo system, so all the usual Sirius XM radio channels are available. There is internet service hard wired into the bonus room with wifi in the house and on the patio. There is an ADT home security system connected to the local fire and county sheriff departments.
We are a short drive from Greenville, SC, where you will find shopping, many fine restaurants, and many entertainment opportunities, including symphony, light opera, several excellent theater companies, minor league sports, Furman and Bob Jones Universities, with all they have to offer as well. Clemson, SC, home of Clemson University, and Anderson, SC, are a short drive west of us.
No smoking or children would be permitted. No pets. Character references (especially from other homeowners you have done house sitting for).
