We live in a 1930s semi-detached house. We love 1930s design so our home might be described as “retro” retaining as many of the original design features as possible. We live a 5 minute walk from Eden Park railway station which provides a frequent train service to central London via London Bridge or Charing Cross (approx 40 min train journey).

Off-street parking is available.

Beckenham is a very green borough. There is ready access to open land through a gate in our back garden which is lovely for walking. We are also fortunate in being a few mins walk from Kelsey Park and, further away, Beckenham Place Park. We are also only a short drive from open Kentish countryside.

A Sainsbury’s local supermarket is near the railway station and West Wickham is a 20 minute walk away. We are only a short bus ride / car drive from Bromley which has the usual high street shops.

Numerous take-aways and restaurants are nearby.

We need to find someone to house sit and to look after our very friendly black cat Joey. Joey would also like you to keep the wild bird feeder topped up please! Whilst Joey is very friendly and loves meeting new people, he has a particularly sensitive sense of smell and will run away from anyone wearing strong perfume or aftershave - though I'm sure he won't mind your wearing fragrance for the odd night out :)

Although living in what is actually an urban environment we back onto fields and woodland so we have a lot of wildlife visiting the garden in the form of all sorts of birds, foxes and (at times over the years) badgers.

We are going to Wellington, New Zealand, to visit family and will be away for nearly two months. We depart Christmas Eve and will return mid February. Read more...
