We are a retired British couple who, for the past thirteen years have made our home in a rather quirky stone/cave house located in Ortahisar, a small market town that borders on the Goreme National Park. The town of Goreme is about 5 km away and Ürgüp about 7km. Both are within walking distance.
We are planning a trip to Brittany in July and will require an experienced sitter/s to care for our house, a cat and three rescued ex-street dogs in our absence.
The house is unique with various terraces overlooking the ancient valley also, with wonderful views of Ortahisar castle. July is a particularly pleasant time of the year when summer temperatures are often in the high 20s. We do not have TV however, unlimited WIFI is provided and a TV screen on which to watch Netflix or play DVDs from our considerable varied selection.
Ortahisar, once a sleepy market town, is in the process of being developed as a tourist centre with hotels, restaurants and cafes appearing where before there ancient ruins. There are wonderful opportunities to walk and explore the unending and accessible hills and valleys that are close by the house and where we take our dogs for their twice daily walks.
Dolmus, mini buses, serve the local towns and taxis are inexpensive.
Our three dogs are loving and easy to handle and are getting on in years. It would be great if the applicant/s be experienced and confident in dealing with larger dogs. Barney, the cat, simply abides and quietly rules over the entire household.
We will be away from July 3rd until July 16th.
This assignment would suit an experienced, independent, self-contained animal loving person/couple who would enjoy walking in the stunning Cappadocian countryside.
