We need a sitter from early Dec 2019 to January 2020 (dates to be confirmed, but it will be at least 4 weeks).

We have a cat who needs feeding daily. We're looking for someone to care for the cat FIRST and the house second. If you are hoping to tour around Australia while housesitting, this is not the gig for you.

Our cat, Steve, is very sweet and loving and does like to spend time with humans. He loves to be brushed and has a collection of brushes, including one that he likes to chew on. He does like to go outside, but this is to be done only during daylight hours and only if you are home to check him. He’s a chubby boy and has not yet jumped the fence, but there is always a first time…. He has access to dry food all day and can be a bit fussy with wet food and leave it, which attracts bugs and that’s gross. His vet is over in Lutwyche and will be notified that we are gone, should any issues arise. We will have ample food/supplies for him and his vaccinations are up to date.

Steve is the main reason we need a house sitter. We need our boy to be happy and well cared for while we are gone.

Basic housecleaning duties required (washing floors, cleaning counter tops, bathrooms). We have a washer (no dryer) downstairs. We have unlimited internet, Netflix, Prime and loads of movies/tv on DVD/Hard drives. We have a small back yard, an electric mower and weed whacker. You will need to mow the lawn 2-3 times (depending on weather).

Our house is an old Queenslander and is air conditioned but will be on a timer, unless you are willing to pay for electricity. The spare room has an excellent ceiling fan. We have a very comfortable queen-sized spare bed with black out curtains.

We are close to Albion and about a 20-minute bus trip from the city. There are 3 buses that go into the city within a 5 min walk and the Albion train station is a short walk away. There is enough space under the house to park 2 cars, should you hire a car or have access to one. There is lots of on-street parking, but sometimes, it is hard to find a park in front of the house. Not really suitable for caravans if they are too long.

All we really want is to come back from our holiday to a living cat and a clean house with all of our stuff in tact.

No children. No smoking. No parties.
