We are looking for house/pet sitters to care for our home while we are overseas. We live on 3 quiet acres in a semi-rural area approximately 40 minutes either way to the Brisbane CBD or the Gold Coast. Shopping centres and doctors are 15 minutes drive away. We have a 3 bedroom home, which is easily maintained. We rely on water from the dam and several rain water tanks for the house and gardens. We have 2 dogs, who are very sociable and enjoy getting a run everyday. Cockatiels and a Princess Parrot occupy our aviaries. Chickens also call our place home, and we let them free range a few afternoons a week.
We are looking for a sitter who can maintain our pool and spa (should be fairly low maintenence at this time of year) and who is familiar with the workings of pumps (dam, septic, aquaponics). We have a aquaponic system which generally runs itself, however, fish will need to be fed daily. We also have a pond of goldfish.
There is room to park a van or motorhome, or you can move into the house. Enjoying the serenity is your payment to help keep an eye on our tranquillity. Wildflife is plentiful and a huge array of birds. Help is close at hand with our adult sons who are happy to drop in from time to time, if you have any questions or concerns.
