We are Katrin and Wencke, two ladies living in Fürth, right next to Nuremberg, one of Germany's most beautiful cities.
Katrin is a teacher and I work as a Senior Communications Manager for a small marketing agency.
Our furry family consists of three cats, Ronja, Wilma and Louie, who really enjoy our beautiful apartment and spacious backyard, typical for 19th century buildings. There is also Jonna, our one year and three month old dog. But she travels with us ;)
We live only 400 meters from the main railway station and even closer to the small river Rednitz, where you can enjoy the summer days.
Fürth is a relaxed and safe town, surrounded by nature and parks to explore on foot. But with the railway so close, you can visit nearby cities such as Nuremberg, Erlangen, Rothenburg ob der Tauber and even Munich for a day trip.
But there is more: This is Franconia, famous for its wine and beer, the Franconian Switzerland (Fränkische Schweiz) and the Franconian Lakes (Fränkisches Seenland). All of which contribute to a relaxed lifestyle.
The summer months in particular are full of opportunities for free outdoor events.
We live in a house built in 1884, in a spacious 160 sqm apartment with stucco ceilings in a middle-class and quite quiet but very central neighbourhood. You will find a very good infrastructure with supermarkets within walking distance.
Which might give an extra feeling of security: Katrin's adult children also live in Fürth and will be able to help you from time to time (e.g. if you want to spend the night somewhere else) and in case of an emergency.
In our apartment, you will have access to our WiFi, which is stable and sufficient for remote working (I do this myself). As my office is our guest room, you will have your own desk if you have to work yourself, which might be a bit more comfortable than working from one of our sofas — which you can also do if you prefer ;)
For your daily convenience we have a dishwasher, washing machine and tumble dryer. You can also use my bicycle to get around town or for trips to Nuremberg or Erlangen (of course you can also take the train or underground).
Our three cats are unique: Really funny and sweet. Two of them like to be outside, i.e. in the garden, but (especially when the weather is not to their liking) they also like human contact and come when called. At least most of the time ;)
Our senior, Ronja, sleeps through the day and needs to be activated from time to time. In her waking hours she is VERY fond of cuddles.
It is up to you to make sure they are comfortable and can stay in their familiar surroundings. But I think this is not too difficult, as they are really lovely!
In Ronja's case, you have to give her medication in the morning and evening. It's not particularly complicated, but you should be able to do it with confidence. Don't worry, she's not aggressive at all!
Another important task for you is to water our plants. The ones in the house and the ones in the garden, which is the perfect oasis in the summer but needs a constant supply of moisture...
