We are looking for sitters that will take care of our pets and treat them and our house like they were their own. We welcome singles, couples, or families who enjoy being in the country while being close to two cities and able to enjoy all the amenities they have. The house is a bungalow and has a ramp and is wheelchair accessible. In most cases sitters are welcome to bring thier own pets and to arrive early or stay later if it helps with their schedules. We have ample parking for an RV.
We have a 30 acre hobby farm with 3 ponds and a creek running through it. We see many bird species including bald and golden eagles and are often visited by beavers, otters, and mink as well as the occasional deer! We have 3 horses, 1 pony, 2 dogs, and 1 cat as well as chickens, guinea fowl, ducks, geese, and peacocks. Our dogs and cat are friendly with people and other dogs and cats. They love attention!!
The dogs do not need to be walked but you will need to let them in and out during the day and they stay inside at night, The cat has her own door, Depending on the time of year there may be grass to mow (with a ride on mower), and flowers to water. Our horses are on pasture but by mid October may need supplemental hay once or possibly twice a day. The birds need to be let out in the morning and closed in at night. They require fresh water every second day and feed about once a week. The work required to care for our outside animals should only take about 20 minutes morning and evening and does not require a great amount of strength.
