We would love to welcome you to our home & farm in the beautiful foothills of Alberta. We are hoping to find a non -smoking, outdoor loving, capable & resourceful couple to enjoy & care for our home.
We are planning to be away for four to five weeks from early September ( we are somewhat flexible on dates ). Fall is a beautiful time of year here with amazing colours. We will be taking our old dog with us so we do not require pet care. Keeping the yard maintained & tidy ( mainly mowing - we have ride on lawn mowers), tending the garden & enjoying the vegetables, filling the bird feeders & watering the indoor plants along with some light housekeeping and the security of having someone here while we are away are what we are looking for. There is a small rental house on the property which is currently empty .
Our home is a bright & comfortable modern 4 bed / 4 bath 1 &1/2 storey farmhouse with a big wraparound deck & a lovely outlook. We have satellite wi-fi & T.V. The farm is 235 scenic acres in hayland & pasture ( rented out ) with ponds & springs and 1/2 mile frontage on the James River. We have walking trails next to the river which has swimming holes, and good fishing. There is crown land to the West of our property. We are 20 mins. from Sundre ( nearest town ), so a vehicle is required, 10 mins from the country store & P.O. & 1 hr. from Red Deer.
This beautiful area is blessed with several tranquil lakes within a short driving distance as well as the Red Deer river, the amazing backcountry of the Bighorn, the Rocky Mountain forest reserve, David Thompson country & so much more.
Anyone who loves the outdoors, walking and hiking, fishing or has a canoe/kayak that they can bring along will have a wonderful time exploring our area , backcountry & communities whilst caring for our home.
