We are looking for a house sitter (couple preferred) for two weeks while we go overseas to Thailand to have a much needed holiday! We are looking for non-smokers with previous experience who can spend a lot of the time at home, or at least are not out in the evening. Someone with experience with larger dogs would also be fantastic! We have a pretty low maintenance garden and easy to maintain house.
Our home is only 4 years old, is incredibly comfortable with everything you could need. The kitchen is fully equipped with all appliances, oven, microwave, gas stove, fridge/ freezer with ice maker, and dishwasher etc. The dining and lounge area are stylish and have a lovely fire place and great indoor/outdoor flow to the alfresco area with built in webber BBQ and an outdoor fire place. There is a seperate theatre room with 65” Samsung HD TV and large comfortable modular lounge. The entire house has underfloor heating and double glazed windows, along with the two fire places the house is warm and cozy over the winter months. We also have a luxurious spa in the alfresco area which is divine on a cold night. We have wifi and Netflix, parking and most likely everything you could need to make a stay comfortable and enjoyable. Mount Barker is a growing suburb just 20 minutes drive from City (Adelaide). There are lots of shops locally and plenty of places to get great fresh produce and supplies. Our house is walking distance to shops and cafes (fantastic bakery down the street!) Adelaide is also close by with the Central Market, Rundle mall and other local attractions.
Pets & farm animals
We have two dogs (both rather spoilt), one male Weimaraner, Flynn (7 years old) and one female German Shepherd, Ahri (4 years old), both with their distinct loveable personality that will need some human company, love, walks and play while we are away. They are both quite big and can get over excited making them a bit of a handful at times when taken on walks together, that’s why a couple would probably be better suited and experience with dogs is preferred. Flynn is incredibly friendly and wants to say hello to all dogs, while Ahri is generally friendly, but we tend not to let her socialise as she can be a bit unpredictable with other dogs but the biggest sweetheart when it comes to people. They are both beautiful natured dogs, however Flynn does struggle with separation anxiety and prefers someone to be at home as much as possible, you can leave them alone at home but Flynn is also a professional at hanging out in the car. Ahri is perfectly happy to just stay at home and play with sticks and leaves, but she does love coming with you to the local cafe too. They do need walks daily, have some rules and a bit of a routine which we like to follow.
House Tasks
Your tasks would include providing the dogs with daily walks, feeding them 2 x daily and just generally give them some love and attention.
Keep the house tidy, check our mail box and possibly water some plants oh and relax and enjoy our home and the spa!
