We are looking for a caring and responsible individual or couple that would like to look after our house and cat Mysan for two weeks from the beginning of November. We live in a log house built in 1780s situated in a quiet area close to the centre of Gävle city.
Mysan is a social cat who appreciates company, so apart from giving her food and fresh water daily, the main thing would be for her not to be alone all of the time. During the summer she's been outside days and nights, but now fall is coming so she spends most of her time in the sofa or bed. She has her own exit so she's letting herself in and out, giving you the freedom to also come and go without worrying for her.
City of Gävle is located 1,5hrs north of Stockholm and 1hr from Uppsala. It's big enough to offer basic entertainment like a concert house, cinema, swimming hall and restaurants. We live in a unique location along the Gävleå river with nature next door, but the city centre only 2,5km away. There's an arboretum and a large park across the river. Nearby nature reserves are ideal for jogging or skiing in the winter time. The closest grocery shop is 1km away. You can borrow our bicycles to get around.
Our house was built in 1780s as a home for blacksmiths of an ironworks now long gone. A country manor overlooks the river and the 8 workers apartments similar to ours. Stalls outside our door are home to horses and ponies that have their summer pasture on the field. The milieau is protected as a museum monument.
Inside the log house painted in quintessentially Swedish "Falured" paint is a small modern apartment of a kitchen and 2 rooms. We have books and music from across the world but no TV. Boardgames and a reliable wifi help you to keep busy. There's also a fireplace in the living room. Apart from showing respect to our home and neighbours, we would also like to have the help of watering our plants, a collection of chilies in particular.
