About this house sitting position in West Coolup

We are a family of 3 hoping to find an experienced couple or suitable solo with van / motorhome that can either do regular short stays and / or consider staying and helping us with basic farm work (gardening, fencing etc to which we would be happy to remunerate you for accordingly).

With a teen at school, we can't go away during the week during school terms but would be interested in a situation where you could stay with us for a couple of weeks in your van and we could get away for a weekend or two etc
There are other neighbours that would also be interested in a similar reciprocal arrangement. There are lovely tourist spots in the area that could serve as your stay during the week if you wanted to come and go.

Alternatively, we would definitely be keen to hear from sitters who perhaps reside in city / suburbs during week and would like to a regular weekend country escape. We would even like the opportunity to have our own weekend stay in the city (hotels etc) so someone that is flexible to come out to the farm for a weekend would be a godsend.

The property: Small agistment / horse stud - 50 acres rural with modern rammed earth dwelling in a peaceful setting. 10 minute drive to nearest town. Five minute drive to 24hr Foodary / Caltex convenience station.
We are happy for the living / bathroom areas of our house to be used by you whilst we are away however as we don't have a spare bedroom, the preference is you would sleep in your own van although this isn't a deal breaker.

Horses (separate care can be arranged), chickens, 5 cats. Friendly Livestock Guardian Dog but separate care can be arranged if you're not comfortable with a giant breed, slobbery dog who thinks he is a lapdog. Doesn't require walking but does love attention. Ultimately we would prefer to take our dog away with us where possible.

If you happen to be experienced with horses, we do have quiet horses that you can ride.

Close to regional tourist towns (Pinjarra, Dwellingup, Waroona, Mandurah). Loan car can be arranged if necessary. Not close to public transport.
Close to natural attractions (waterways, bush etc). Fishing, crabbing, walk trails etc nearby Fishing equipment, kayaks etc available for use.

We do have WiFi although being satellite NBN, data is capped however using personal hotspot works well and we would consider gifting additional data blocks if absolutely necessary.

There are no scheme utilities so things like knowing how to change a gas bottle, not using too much rainwater etc is essential.

It is a rural property and whilst we try our hardest to have a clean and tidy house, with pets in and out and near to bush / gravel roads, dust and pet hair is unavoidable.

Pending border reopening, at this stage we only have one major trip planned winter 2021 however would like to start getting away the odd weekends over the next few months and christmas / new year school holidays. Read more...
