About this house sitting position in Warrane
Attention we are looking for someone who understands cats and doesn’t mind being woken up early or having cats on the bed.
We are looking for a house sitter, for our cats, Skye and Molly and our chickens.
One of our cats, Molly has recently been diagnosed with diabetes and requires insulin twice daily.
Our house is a simple but comfortable home with a permaculture garden, bees and chickens. Depending on the time of year there is fruit, berries, herbs, and a variety of vegetables. Watering of the garden and indoor plants will be required, particularly the pots on deck if we have a hot spell.
We are located 10 minutes from the centre of Hobart, 5 minutes from a major shopping, cinema, swimming pool and beaches, and 10 minutes from the Hobart International Airport. The house is close to the highway so there can be some highway noise.
The house is fully insulated with a good quality air conditioner. The kitchen has all the necessities for cooking and a great selection of herbs and spices. We have an extensive library covering a range of fiction and non fiction including gardening, travel guides, cooking, natural therapies etc. There is a range of Tasmanian books. There is a study with a sit to stand desk, ergonomic chair, and a large screen monitor. The beds have quality mattresses and bedding. There is an exercise bike, yoga bolsters, and an array of weights and other exercise accessories. There are kayaks and bikes that can be utilised. There are lots of native birds who frequent the garden, and a bandicoot who pops in from time to time.
Molly and Skye- do spend time outdoors (they have a cat flap) but must be locked in overnight.
The house/ garden is smoke, fragrance and chemical free and we would ask that no perfume or air freshener is used during your stay.
It would best suit a couple or single person with no pets of your own. Sorry, the no dogs isn’t negotiable as the cats haven’t been around dogs so no matter how well behaved yours is it would stress the girls who are very set in their ways. Also, my yard is mostly garden with no front fence so they could easily get onto road.
Experience caring for cats and administration of insulin highly desired. You must be able to commit to insulin doses at 6:30 -7am and 7pm each day. Experience in the vet or healthcare industries would be ideal.
National police check required and references for cat sitting preferable. Read more...
