Southern Ecuador is BEAUTIFUL! And the weather is gorgeous all year round, generally between degrees Fahrenheit. We live on a five acre organic farm, filled with coffee and fruit trees and flowers and vegetables. It truly is paradise. Our area is on a peaceful mountainside, but it's close enough to town to be convenient. It's only a ten minute taxi ride to the nearest town, or a pleasant half an hour walk. The city of Loja is less than an hour away. Just fifteen minutes from our home is the popular expat town of Vilcabamba, with a variety of restaurants and shops.
We have excellent internet, and believe our home would be a wonderful fit for someone looking for a retreat from which to work, write, paint, or relax.
Our house sitter must be comfortable in a rural setting, and must love dogs, tolerate cats, and be at least pleasantly ambivalent toward tortoises and chickens. A bit of Spanish will be an asset.
Our dogs are not exceptionally needy, but since there are three of them, and the gigantic one is still a puppy, they can be a lot to juggle. We also have one indoor-outdoor cat, a few barn cats, a tortoise, and some hens. Finally, the garden may require watering.
We live on a working farm. The property is not very manicured; good mobility is necessary, as is a high comfort level with dogs. A couple of our trusted farm workers will be off and on the property, though never in the house.
