We are looking for someone to look after our 9 year old Labrador, Rosie. Rosie will need to be walked once a day, preferably in the morning. Rosie is fine to be left in the backyard during the day. She does enjoy company indoors when people are home though. Rosie sleeps in a crate inside overnight. Rosie needs to be fed twice a day in the morning and evening.Rosie ruptured her cruciate ligament and had surgery in March. She is recovering well and can walk normally on her lead. However it would be best not to take her on any offlead walks nor take her to a dog park.We have a modern 4 bedroom house in Forde, Canberra. We have ducted zoned heating throughout the house. We have a large kitchen, 2 bathrooms, 2 living areas, covered outdoor entertaining area, fully enclosed backyard with grass, landscaped gardens, mature trees and double garage. We have wifi internet connected to the National Broadband Network.Forde is in the Gungahlin region to the north of Canberra. It is surrounded by Mulligan's Flat nature reserve which has extensive walking tracks through bushland and abundant native wildlife. We regularly see large mobs of kangaroos around 200 metres from our house.Forde is very quiet but is around 20 minutes by car from the centre of Canberra. There is a small supermarket, cafe, takeaway shop and Chinese restaurant at the local shops that are a 10 minute walk from our house. Gungahlin Town Centre is a 5 minute drive by car. There are also buses from Forde to Gungahlin and it is then possible to continue on to the city via light rail.Canberra has many attractions and is home to most of Australia's national institutions such as Parliament House, the Australian War Memorial, the National Gallery, the National Museum and the National Library.
