Hi there,
I'm looking for someone who would be interested in taking care of Ollie and Izzy, my cockatiels, starting sometime before Christmas (could be any day after December 20th but before December 26th) through the end of February. Prior experience taking care of a bird is a must, as Ollie and Izzy fly free in the apartment during the day, and only sleep in their cages at night. They are hand-trained and love to hang out on the various perches I have in the apartment, as well as on my shoulder. Ollie loves to talk, whistle, sing and is very social; Izzy is much quieter but loves to cuddle.
My apartment is in the heart of downtown, on the 10th floor of a highrise with a unobstructed view west. It's a 3.5 (a kitchen/living/dining room, a small kitchen, a small bathroom, and a separate bedroom with a queen-size bed) that has central heating and AC, and an indoor pool and sauna for the building. It's a 5 minute walk from the Montreal Museum of Fine Arts, up the hill from Concordia University's downtown campus and the Guy metro station, at the foot of Mount Royal mountain, and just a block from Sherbrooke Street.
Whoever comes is welcome to help themselves to whatever food and drink I have in the fridge & cupboards. I can provide the WiFi code as well of course, and have a monitor that you can hook your laptop up to if you want to watch Netflix or anything online.
Duties involved include:
- Keeping the birds company, chatting and singing to them; they're very social!
- changing their water and blowing the chaff of their seed dishes once a day;
- giving them their breakfast
- putting them in their cages and covering them to sleep at night (sometime between 6-8pm)
- uncovering their cages in the morning and letting them out (sometime between 7-9am)
- changing the paper in their cages and under perches once a week
I don't have any pics of the inside of my apartment here, but will some privately if there's interest. If you are interested or have questions, feel free to contact me by either answering this post.
Thank you for reading my post!
