About this house sitting position in Prospect

Hi all - this is a two day stay (one night) to help with my dog Toohey, who has isolation anxiety & can't be left for more than 20/30 minutes alone. Genuine dog lovers preferred.

I'll be away from Saturday mid morning till Sunday evening (around 5pm but will confirm on the day). This ideally suits someone who is happy to stay-in just relaxing, cooking, studying, playing with the dog, watching netflix etc. Not suited to those sight-seeing - my dog has isolation anxiety and can only be left alone in the house for short stints. He is also reactive to other dogs also so if you do take him out on walks or drives, it's really important to avoid other dogs. He is extremely vocal if left in a car.

There is an IGA supermarket and shopping strip within a few minutes walk. His routine is to have his dinner after you have yours, and his breakfast after you have yours. I have two fish and a bird, who shouldn't need much - the fish appreciate a pinch of food in the morning. I have a medium sized fully secure back yard for Toohey.

There are security cameras outside of the house, plus one in the kitchen due to break-ins in that location in the past (many years ago). The outside cameras record briefly if triggered (motion + heat activated). They record in 30 second bursts of video, no audio.

You will have your own room (Queen bed), and the house to yourself. NBN internet/wifi is included, heat pump and gas heating (winter), large tv with a chromecast in the lounge, and a playstation can easily be plugged in with the cable ready to go. There is also a TV in your bedroom. The bathroom is renovated and there is a second toilet out the back / laundry area. You are free to use my laundry supplies, tumble drier etc. And of course spices in the kitchen, condiments, tea (there is LOTS).

Toohey will settle overnight more easily if he receives a walk right before bed - but as he is reactive to other dogs, and cats, and wildlife (!) walking is best done late at night once other dogs aren't around. It's ok to not walk him at all if you are not confident with a 25kg very strong, occasionally reactive dog. Most experienced dog owners find he's very easy to manage, and walks very well, and he makes an excellent couch cuddle buddy.

Reviews for Bronwyn

5 stars stars
“Toohey is a lovely dog, very well trained, and sociable with humans..
Although he has a dog reactivity condition, we were able to carefully avoid other dogs whilst also enjoying walks and play.
Bronwyn had prepared everything needed whilst she was away, and had made a clear, informative, info sheet to refer to.
Very happy to care for Toohey again.
