Kandy with all its attractions.

What responsibilities are required of the house sitter

I have 1 medium size dog , Sally, about 3 years old, who loves an early morning walk. My houseman comes 5 days a week to keep garden tidy and clean, and will do laundry, ironing if wanted.. Sitter will need to be careful about security for house when out for a time. If desired to stay away for 1 or 2 days, this can be arranged with my houseman.

What are the good features of the property and location

My house is not a luxury home but has all modern conveniences, plenty of fans but a/c is not neccesary here. There are large balconys with stunning views over the town and mountains. My houseman who has been with me for 5 years is a good cook and can advise on food. He speaks basic English. House has internet, large screen TV with English language stations. I have a new scooter and a large car which may be available by negotiation. Despite inflation the living costs are low as the exchange rate for pounds or dollars is very high. No problem in shopping at supermarkets or open market. Search on internet to find out about Kandy. Sri Lanka has good transport facilities especially the train service. The world renown Botanical Gardens is only a short distance away as are many other tourist sites.

What does the house sitter need to consider before applying for this assignment

The period of house sitting is approximately 3 months June, July August 2024 when I will be away. This sitting is really not suitable for young children. A visa is easy to obtain. Excellent references will be required.
